The Reality:
Wake up at 6am.
Start breakfast.
Princess #1 wakes up and still has terrible itchy rash all over that has now been diagnosed as poison ivy. She is irritable.
Eat waffles with princesses.
Receive amazing piece of art and sweet cards from princesses and husband.
Get ready for church. Arrive to find 20 4 & 5 year olds with only 2 teachers.
Go to pharmacy and grocery store after church.
Arrive home to find 2 sleepy and grumpy princesses.
Send husband and princess #2 to lake.
Put princess #1 down for a nap.
Start washing all bed linens, couch slipcovers and clothing that could have come into contact with poison ivy and princess #1
Realize as you watch princess #1 sleep that without her you would not have a reason to celebrate Mother's Day.
Thank God for the gifts that he has given you.

Sounds a lot like my Mother's Day and I agree - Thank God for the gifts that he has given you - both of them :D
Ladybug hugs,

Yeah. Those dreams of a perfect day die hard sometimes. But you got it right, because at the end of the day, no matter how crazy or off track it might have become, one glance at a sleeping child reminds us that we really are living the dream. And makes your heart feel like it might explode from the overwhelming love.
And then you collapse commatose into bed before beginning all again... :-)
Happy belated Mother's Day to you!
Kate
Isn't it amazing how sometimes we need to see things through s different lens to be reminded of how precious they are to us? So glad that you had a wonderful Mother's Day!!
That is so sweet:)
